Events future ahead for Elizabeth
2025 was quite a year for PHPS, as both our workload and the team expanded due to an increased demand for event production services, and conferences as an outcome of our merger with Affinity Events. It was the perfect time to introduce some fresh new talent to the team, and PHPS approached Keele University about the opportunity of bringing a graduate on board, to gain work experience in the events industry with particular focus on event promotion.
Back in October, it was with open arms that we welcomed the talented graduate Elizabeth Wilson, to PHPS as a Graduate Placement in Marketing. Elizabeth joined us straight from Keele University, where she undertook volunteering work at their Trampolining club, as well as achieving a degree in Marketing and Business Management. Perfect preparation for the ups and downs of event production promotion!
Elizabeth’s role was initially funded through the UKSPF initiative, and her major focus was the Newcastle under Lyme Business Festival, “Shaping the Future”. Elizabeth was a key factor for the programming, app development, website and content development, event management support. Elizabeth was also hands-on at the event for delegate management but also capturing and posting the social media content.
Over the past six months Elizabeth has made a fantastic contribution to the team, not only on the run up to events in the preparations, but she’s been very hands on and has proven herself as invaluable at such a wide variety of arts, community, music and corporate events. As a result, Elizabeth has more than earned her permanent place with the team, and has shaped her own future as our as Marketing and Events Assistant.
On accepting the position Elizabeth commented, “My placement at PHPS has been brilliant – I’ve had the chance to work on such a huge range of projects, from Honey Box and Appetite programmes to conferences, live events and community initiatives. The variety means the job is never repetitive and I’ve learned so much in a short space of time. I’m delighted to now be joining the team full time as Marketing and Events Assistant.”
The news that Elizabeth had accepted a permanent position with PH Production Services was also received positively by Keele University’s Placements and Projects team, Manager Carly Outerbridge told us, “Keele University was delighted to support PH Production Services when they approached us with a Marketing and Events Assistant placement opportunity exclusively for one of our students. It is always fantastic to see local businesses recognising and investing in the talent within our student community through both placement and graduate level opportunities.
The role attracted strong interest, and Elizabeth (then a final year Keele University student) was successfully appointed following a competitive recruitment process. We are delighted to hear of her exceptional performance since beginning her role and are incredibly proud that this has resulted in her being offered a permanent position with the company.
We always enjoy celebrating the achievements of our students and graduates, and we wish Elizabeth every continued success in her career.”
PH Production Services Director Pete Herbert added, “Event production management is a fast-moving business, Elizabeth’s eagerness to learn and positive attitude made an impact. She’s adapted very well to the pace and demands of the events world, and we are very pleased that she’s now permanently here to support us. It’s incredibly important to give young people a good start in their careers and this graduate placement has had a very positive outcome.”
