ABN 4-day conference at the ICC, with fully digital poster displays, yoga and a fun run

PHPS have had an association with the Association of British Neurologists that dates back to 2010. Since then, we have supported their annual conference in ten different venues, and seen it grow in numbers from 650 to over 1000 delegates in 2026. Since 2013, we’ve also delivered their autumn meetings. It’s a conference supplier relationship founded on in-depth experience, built together and evolved to embrace new technologies, a growing conference audience and lively social programme.

In 2026, the ABN conference was held at the ICC Birmingham 5-8 May. The main plenary sessions and content were coordinated across 5 halls and involved 30+ invited speakers and 46 platform speakers (from abstracts). Over 30 sponsors exhibited at the conference, with PHPS taking responsibility for the full exhibition stand build including health and safety.

11 members of the PHPS team support 7 core members of the ABN event team in the following roles: Sponsor and Exhibition manager, 3 Front Desk team, Project Manager, Speaker Preview, 5 technicians providing technical and programme support.

The poster sessions have always attracted a lot of attention, back in 2010 these were all delivered on paper, by 2025 100 of the 250+ posters were digital, and by 2026 all the posters were presented digitally. Of these, 100 were part of guided poster tours with short presentations to groups browsing the poster exhibition across 20 screens.

THE OUTCOME

Over the 4 days of the ABN annual conference, there were Silent Symposia, a drinks reception and social programme that included a Trainee Dinner and After-Hours event, two 7am Yoga sessions and even… a fun run! A serious, informative, enjoyable and successful convergence of almost 1000 British Neurologists. What next? PHPS will be supporting the ABN Special Interest Group Movement Disorder in January 2027.
