Being part of the local arts ecosystem, Pete chats with Stoke Creates
Last month, I stepped into the spotlight – well onto a microphone – to speak with community arts podcasters Siobhan Mcaleer and Ryan Ball, who were specially commissioned by Stoke Creates. We talked all about Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area’s cultural evolution, and our part in it as art promoters, producers and supporters.
It was a very on topic talk to have with Stoke Creates, who are a dedicated partnership with a mission to make culture happen for the social and economic benefit of all. They make the arts accessible to local communities and bring together key players in the local art scene. Together, we collaborate to provide events and projects that fire imaginations, improve wellbeing, heighten ambitions and ensure that the arts are inclusive and evolving.
I took a nostalgic look back at my journey from theatre production, to establishing PH Production Services, and how we’ve been involved in the city’s evolving arts scene, including our input to Stoke Creates. We also explored my particular passion for live music and supporting emerging artists.
Take a listen and join the cause to build a bubble of positivity around the local art scene and shift attitudes towards a more supportive and optimistic approach to the arts.

Thanks to Siobahn, Ryan and Jerome Whittingham for producing the podcast, write up and photograph. I look forward to supporting the Stoke Creates cause well into the future.
