PH Production Services Ltd Stream Midsummer Festival.

When curating a 12 hour arts festival to show the best that is on offer from their members, Birmingham based Culture Central approached PH Production Services Ltd to help deliver the festival online. The festival was held on Mid Summers Day and appropriately named Mid Summer Festival.

The twelve-hour streamed festival included works from dance companies Motionhouse, Autin Dance Theatre, Rosie Kay Dance Company, ACE Dance and a variety of work from Birmingham based DanceXchange.

Theatre performances included works from Fabularium based in Coventry and Pentabus based in Bromfield near Ludlow.

There was a number of contributions from the Royal Shakespeare Company and Birmingham Royal Ballet
Including workshops. Designers from the Royal Shakespeare Company will provide a workshop on how to create your own fairy bower at home inspired by the wonderous woodland bed of Titania, queen of the fairies.

Digital and film played a part in the offering from a number of companies including Scott Oliver’s piece Uplift.

Midsummer Festival is the first event organised by the WMCRU, which has been created to co-ordinate, develop and deliver an action-orientated, response by over 100 arts organisations in the West Midlands to the Covid-19 crisis in the short, medium and long term.
